Issue 7… Wish List!
Since we make the Mag for you, we want to know what you’d like to see in Issue 7! This can be article ideas, datasheet ideas (for downloadable supplements), or regular features (Homebrew, etc).
This isn’t to say we’re out of article ideas, but it’s no good to put out content that folks aren’t interested in. Make sense? Good!
Cheers all,

Issue 7 Wants You…

With Issue 6 finally kicked out of the house, it’s time to focus on getting the 7th child out into the world. The “day of reckoning” is March 15th, and we need your articles, pictures, artwork, commentary et al to make it a smashing hit!
With Issue 7, we are going to try something new with the theme, notably in that there isn’t one! The shock, the horror, right? With any luck, this will not make folks feel restricted with what they can send in.
We will also be trying out two new features: Homebrew and Letters to the Editor (Nomad’s idea, not mine!). Both are rather self-explanatory, but if you insist:
-Homebrew: House rules, custom campaigns, missions, units and even an entire army list all fall under this section. I have high hopes for this addition to the Mag.
-Letters to the Editor: this is to print feedback, questions, comments, etc that we get (sadly, we have gotten nothing in these regards other than unadulterated praise).
As always, submit your articles to by emailing them to theastromag@gmail.com.
Now, how can you help in other ways than submitting an article and other content?
We’ve got some snazzy signature banners! Use them in your signatures across the Internet to spread the word about the Mag!
-The Original Astro Mag (another another one!)
-Chronicles of the Old World
Also new is some social networking! The Mag now has a Twitter account and a Facebook fan page. Pretty cool, huh?
.
Right-o, I do believe that’s all the news.
Cheers all,
Mr C
New News: Screen shot, Fantasy Mag and Datasheets
Good afternoon/evening, ladies and gentlemen.
I wanted to throw up another sneek peek which shows how the battle report looks (hint: it’s awesome). The maps were made with Battle Chronicler software, and the armies are two fully painted armies: Chaos Space Marines and Space Marines. I’m very excited about this, as the format means battle reports will be something that can be done and look good!
Also included is some tinkering I did while waiting for Dow: Dark Crusade to load for Issue 7’s cover… or what I wish it could be! The portrait style doesn’t mesh well with the landscape format of the Mag. It’s hard to find good Warhammer art in a landscape format; if you know anyone who is an artist, see if they’ll do something for us. With our ever growing readership, it’s a good way to get their name out if they’re interested in commissions and the like.
Oh, those Land Raiders with lights? They’re part of the miniature showcase (another segment that will hopefully become a regular feature), and there’s more where that came from

Excited yet?
I need to mention the Fantasy edition of the Mag. japhelio has told me he hasn’t gotten but one or two complete articles in. I highly encourage any of you who dabble in Fantasy to any degree to write an article for Chronicles of the Old World. If you have any questions about writing an article and the like, email me at theastromag@gmail.com or japhelio at thefantasymag@gmail.com. Remember, the deadline is February 1st, which is fast approaching!
I am working on gather several Apocalypse Datasheets from the Astronomican community to provide another bundle o’ datasheets. Send me an email with what you want to see in that bundle! If we don’t have it, there are some folks who are capable of punching out rules with relative ease.
I think that covers all the new news.
Thank you for your continued patience,
Consadine
Another Update: 40k Articles, Fantasy (wait, what?!)
Hello gentlemen and the occasional lady!
The title of this post might be a bit confusing. Why’s that? Well, I mentioned Fantasy because, well… read on, first there’s some Issue 6 to chat about.
We’ve been getting some articles and pictures for Issue 6. The editorial team (only three of us now) is very excited about this uptick in submissions. Yet, it’s never enough! If you have an idea for an article and want to send it in but can’t make the deadline for Issue 6 (December 21st!), email it to theastromag@gmail.com and we can use it in future issues.
On that note, articles aren’t the only thing that we’re looking for! If you have a miniature/miniatures that you want to showcase, send pictures to the email address given in the previous paragraph. Same with artwork and fiction; we’ll review every submission!
Now, onto this Fantasy nonesen– er, I mean, business.
Japehlio from the Astronomican forums is heading up the Fantasy edition of the Astro Mag. It’ll be like the current Mag, but all about Fantasy instead of 40k. The same submission guidelines and the like apply to this project, and you’ve got until January 22nd to submit your article/picture(s)/fiction to thefantasymag@gmail.com. Got questions? Email them to thefantasymag@gmail.com and it’ll get squared away.
Right, I believe that is all there is new to share. I’ll throw up another post when we get closer to the deadline for Issue 6 submissions as a reminder that, well, the deadline is coming up.
As always, if you have anything to say about the Mag, email me at theastromag@gmail.com.
Cheers all,
Consadine
