Issue 6 Artwork

Alright folks, real life has been beaten back once again; the Mag will be out next week!

In the meantime, here’s some of the artwork that we’ll be using in Issue 6.

Thanks to Noldofinve and kanartist (both of whose work you see above) who are letting us use their work for the Mag.

Cheers all,

Mr C

Assembly Update

Things are chugging along just fine here at Astro Industries. There have been a few unexpected delays, but what would life be without some sticks through the spokes, hm?

Work has already begun on getting articles together for Issue 7, believe it or not. A few things need to be worked out in regards to the details of the issue as a whole, but it is already very exciting to see interest springing up on the homefront (the Astronomican forums, of course).

I would like a minute of your time, however. In the comments, please post what kind of articles you would like to see in the Mag. While we try to gather as much as we can take, it does help to know what you, the reader, wants, so we can provide a wholesome and enjoyable E-zine time and time again. Perhaps weapon conversions is something you’re after, or alternate color schemes for Eldar Aspect Warriors. Help us to help you, and it won’t take much time to do so!

Thank you for your continued patronage! :)

I regret to say that we did not receive nearly as many articles as hoped for.

Thus, the new deadline for articles is October 18th!

Remember to submit articles, artwork and anything else to theastromag@gmail.com so the content can be sent to the respective editor.

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments and I will answer them ASAP.

Cheers all!

The lineup for editors has changed for this issue and I want to share it with everyone. Expect nothing of the best from these gentlemen!

Sowing Seeds…

…of creativity, of course!

We are now accepting articles for Issue 6 of the Astro Mag. What is this issue’s theme? Why, I’m glad you asked, good sirs and lasses, for Issue 6 is all about the pre-Heresy and the Horus Heresy!

While the fiction, aesthetics and competition are going to be about this infamous era in Games Workshop lore, feel free to submit a modeling, painting or tactics article, even a battle report that isn’t set in the Heresy. If you’re new to the Mag, email your article, with pictures, in a Microsoft Word .doc file to theastromag@gmail.com

The deadline for articles is October 2nd! This will ensure that we can release this issue before October ends.

In other news Kevin (Arkaedin) will be stepping down as Chief Editor with myself (Morgan, AKA Consadine) will be taking his place.  Kevin will still be creatively involved with the mag but will be sticking more to a promotional role.

I leave you with an excerpt from one of my favorite pieces of Horus Heresy fiction, The Last Day:

Horus threw his father across the room where he clanged against the bulkhead. The Warmaster stepped toward him, breathing ragged, expression psychotic.

“I will take away your godhood! I will take away your galaxy! I will take away your empire! I will take away your sons! When I have done that, Father, what will you be?”

“A man,” the Emperor whispered.

He focused everything into a lance of bright light. All his pain, all his grief, the despairing rage of a man who has nothing left to lose.

Horus was hit so hard it shocked the very daemons from his soul. In that moment, he knew what he had done, what he had become. He looked the master of mankind in the eye; and then he died.

Work Begins…

Lads and lasses,

Work has begun on stitching together Issue #5 of the Astro Mag! The release date is still a secret (read: mystery even to us) but is slated for mid-July.

If you submitted an article or story, many thanks for doing so. Do keep the gears turning for what you can do for Issue #6!

The release of Issue #5: Apocalypse will be announced here, so keep checking back!

It’s the Final Countdown…

… To get those articles completed and submitted! That’s right folks, the deadline for accepting articles for Issue #5: Apocalypse is fast approaching. One week, seven days, one hundred and sixty-eight hours… well, you get the idea.

There’s still lots of time, so if you have an idea for an article or are polishing one up, get to it! Tactics, modeling, or even an Apocalypse battle report are all on the list of “Things We Need”, but don’t limit yourself to those three, especially if your talents lie in other areas of the hobby.

Finished articles, questions, comments and anything else you can think of should be emailed to theastromag@gmail.com

The clock is ticking!
