Hello all!  The past few months have brought some changes to the Mag.  Most notably is the switch of content focus: the Astro Mag will no longer be 40k only.  In the upcoming Issue 9 and future releases, you will find tutorials, reviews, editorials, army features and battle reports that cover not only whatever tabletop wargame system there is out there, but also other miniature companies.  I am excited, and a bit nervous, to see how this switch goes.

On that note, let’s take a look at the article list for Issue 9 (under construction!):

There are some big names in there (Andy Chambers and Gav Thorpe), some content that is only available through the Astro Mag (TSOALR), and a few articles on non-GW systems/miniatures (Flames of War, the Living Incubator, Infinity).  How cool is that, eh?  Read more... Righto, we’re currently sitting on 856 downloads of Issue 8, and that’s without Warseer promoting us this time around. Not bad.

Now we’re looking at Issue 9 and other future releases! There’s going to be a newish structure to taking articles. You will be able to submit an article at any time. There will be deadlines where if you want to have your article considered for the upcoming Issue, you must submit the article by that deadline.

Now, onto the sort of things I’m looking for in these articles!

-Warhammer Fantasy. Oh yes, Fantasy! Whether or not to have the articles as part of the Mag or a separate download released alongside the 40k Mag, that hasn’t been decided yet. I do want to offer some Fantasy stuff, though, because we can!

-Specialist Games. Specialist games get zero love these days. Time to fix that. If you have experience with any of the specialist games, please think of an idea for an article and let me know!
